Amarsaikhan Namsraijav

Nature Art · Installation · Land Art

특히 2018년 대만의 Cheng Long Wetlands International Environmental Art Project, 2019년 이탈리아 Global Nomadic Art Project, 2021년 울란바토르 Nogoonbaatar International Eco Art Festival 등에 참여했으며, 몽골에서 개최된 Global Nomadic Art Project에서는 조직자로도 활동했다.

Amarsaikhan Namsraijav is a Mongolian nature artist known for large-scale installations using natural materials such as clay, soil, dead trees, and branches. Raised in a traditional nomadic family, his work draws on the wisdom and values of nomadic life, particularly its harmony with nature, minimal consumption, and self-sufficient way of living. Through his practice, he reflects on the gradual disappearance of nomadic culture while questioning contemporary consumer society and its relationship with nature.

Since initiating the Nomadic Art Project in 2009, he has created site-specific works in natural environments, transforming discarded materials and natural elements into monumental installations that evoke nomadic movement, dwellings, and ways of life. Alongside installation, he continues to work in painting, exploring themes of sustainability and the relationship between humans and nature.

Amarsaikhan has participated in numerous international biennales and environmental art projects, including the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale, Commagene Biennial in Türkiye, Bangla Biennale in India, Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in Japan, Beijing Biennale, Cheongju Biennale, and Busan Biennale. He has also taken part in around 20 international residency programs across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

His international activities include the Global Nomadic Art Project and other nature and environmental art initiatives in Mongolia, France, Italy, Taiwan, Germany, and beyond.

Born in Kanagawa, Japan, she is an actress and Butoh artist. She began her actor training in high school through the Suzuki Method developed by Tadashi Suzuki, and later performed with the theater company Kawasaki Alice in various productions, including Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Since 2017, she has been a member of the dramatic body unit B-kikan, led by Butoh artist Temmetsu, exploring forms of physical expression that intersect theater and Butoh. Working across stage and screen, she delicately reveals movement, emotion, and inner sensation through the body, developing a distinctive performance language that brings together the physicality of Butoh and her experience as an actress.

She has also maintained a strong interest in Korean culture and art, continuing artistic exchanges with Korea through her participation in the Jeju International Experimental Arts Festival (JIEAF) in 2019. Her practice continues to explore the relationship between body, emotion, and space while moving fluidly between the roles of actress and Butoh artist.

Sound Art · Improvised Music · Field Recording

A New Zealand-born sound artist and improvising musician, he studied sound art in Auckland and, after spending time in Taiwan and Japan, has been based in Korea since 2015. He has developed projects such as the improvisational music series Ddakji Series and the participatory sound project Second Heard Sound Shop, expanding the acts of listening, collecting, and exchanging sounds into artistic experiences. Launched in 2015, Ddakji Series has continued in collaboration with various improvising musicians in Korea, while Second Heard Sound Shop has been presented in a range of venues, including Chuncheon, the Seoul Museum of Art, and Oil Tank Culture Park.

His practice centers on improvisation, self-made instruments, and field recording, exploring the relationships between everyday sounds, natural environments, people, and places. In recent years, he has continuously recorded sounds from sites where nature and urban environments intersect, including Wangsong Ecological Wetland, islands, and tidal flats, listening closely to ecological changes and the traces of living beings within them. Rather than treating sound simply as something to be heard, he uses it as a medium for rediscovering and connecting people, places, and environments.

Iori Kinki |

Butoh · Improvisational Performance · Physical Performance

A Butoh artist raised in Asuka, Nara Prefecture, Japan, and currently based in Osaka, he explores the relationship between body and nature, self and the world through the question, “What does it mean to be human as part of nature?”

In 2002, he began studying under Butoh artist Mushimaru Fujieda and joined the multidisciplinary art collective The Physical Poets. After injuring his left leg in 2018 and having to relearn the sensation of walking, he began to reconsider Butoh from its foundations. Since then, he has developed forms of physical expression that move beyond conventional boundaries of dance and theater, exploring ideas such as “dance without dancing,” “surrealism of the body,” and “dependent origination—the origin of relationships.”

Emphasizing improvisation and site-specific response, he works through solo performances, collaborations, and improvised sessions with musicians, transforming moments in which the body responds to space, others, and nature into performance. He has also expanded his practice through En-no-en, a project centered on relationships and encounters. His work reflects on humanity’s increasing distance from nature and unfolds the process of returning to our original state as part of nature as a kind of “improvised poetry of the body.”

Mocca

Voice Art · Improvised Music · Ritual Performance

Mocca is a voice artist and singer from Gifu Prefecture, Japan, who has been developing an artistic practice centered on the human voice since 2000. Moving across improvisational music, song, healing sound, and storytelling, she explores the primal power of the voice as a way of connecting people and nature, and bridging the visible and invisible worlds.

In 2011, she left urban life and returned to her nature-rich hometown of Gifu, where she began developing work more deeply rooted in the rhythms of the land and the natural environment. Since 2014, she has organized Ina Fest – Rice Cultivation Art Festival, a project that brings together rice farming, art, and Japanese mythology, exploring how agriculture and artistic practice can coexist as part of everyday life. Through music and performances inspired by Japanese mythology, she expresses gratitude and prayer for nature, as well as the cycles that connect human beings and the natural world.

For Mocca, the voice is the most immediate and fundamental instrument of the human body. Through voice-and-breath workshops, meditation, and ritual-like performances involving song and dance, she creates spaces where participants can listen inwardly and connect with others. In recent years, her practice has increasingly focused on empathy, prayer, and harmony, using the power of sound to imagine a peaceful world in which people and nature live together.

Nomad Wave |

Performance · Land Art · Installation

(Batmunkh Munkhtsetseg)

(Eya Ganbat)

Saipa Fire Arts | Eum Ye-eun

Fire Performance · Traditional Dance · Community Art

Kesinee Prathummanee & Sittidach Srisamai

Saifa Fire Arts is a Chiang Mai–based network of tribal arts and crafts artists that combines fire, dance, music, and craft to reinterpret regional traditions through contemporary performance. Rooted in the ancient Lanna culture of northern Thailand and the Yor tribal traditions of the Isan region, the group brings together diverse ritual movements and dance forms on a single stage.

Their fire performances incorporate elements from Lanna traditions such as Fawn Leb, Fawn Tien, and Fawn Jerng, as well as Yor peacock dance, fire-related dances, and ancient Muay Thai. Rather than simply reproducing tradition, Saifa Fire Arts uses fire as a powerful medium to connect ancestral memory with contemporary expression.

Led by Kesinee Prathummanee (Mint) and Sittidach Srisamai (Bird), the group continues to expand tribal wisdom and craftsmanship into performance while connecting local communities with international audiences.

Temmetsu Toshi Matsumoto is a Japanese Butoh artist, director, and ceramic artist. He began studying Butoh in 1993 at the Tatsumi Hijikata Memorial Asbestos-kan and later worked with the Butoh group Sekishoku Suisei Kan before developing his career as a solo artist. Drawing movement from inner images and sensations of the body, he has built a distinctive practice that crosses the boundaries of Butoh, theater, and visual art.

From 2016 to 2023, he led B-kikan, a physical performance unit combining theater and Butoh, where he explored new theatrical body languages through works centered on Shuji Terayama. In 2021, he received an Excellence Award at the Young Directors Competition of the Japan Directors Association. He has continued to perform internationally across Japan, Europe, Russia, and Korea.

In recent years, he has expanded the physicality and aesthetics of Butoh into other artistic fields. Since 2021, he has also worked in ceramics, presenting his works through exhibitions and solo shows, while remaining active in film, music videos, and fashion. In 2025 and 2026, he participated in Wakaba Coffee’s Anthropophagy Ball, collaborating with Butoh and dance artists of different generations and exploring new possibilities for contemporary Butoh.

A Taiwanese diabolo artist and contemporary circus performer, he has been developing his practice around diabolo since 2014, combining calligraphy, juggling, and visual art to expand traditional diabolo into contemporary performance. He won the Tokyo International Diabolo Competition in 2016 and has since performed at international street arts festivals in Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, and Canada. In 2025, he also served as a judge at the World Diabolo Competition.

In recent years, he has focused on treating the movement of diabolo itself as a form of painting. Since 2023, his Diabolo Painting project has used paint-covered diabolos and juggling tools to leave traces of spinning and throwing movements on canvas, transforming fleeting circus gestures into lines, rhythms, and color. The work received the Skill Innovation Award at Taiwan’s BIG TOP Awards in 2025. In 2026, he presented more than 20 works in a solo exhibition at the Yong-An Arts and Cultural Center in Taipei and performed Fluidity Verse and Diabolo Painting at Japan’s CCC Frontier Festival.

His practice goes beyond technical virtuosity, transforming bodily movement, chance, and audience interaction into a form of visual art.

A Butoh artist born in Tokyo, she began practicing Butoh at the age of 15 after participating in a workshop by Temmetsu. During high school, she presented her first solo work, Joshikosei Fumu, and continued developing her own Butoh language through solo performances and street performances centered on bodily sensation and improvisation.

Since beginning her professional activities in 2020, she has performed as a dancer with B-kikan, the physical performance unit led by Temmetsu, while also collaborating across genres through music videos, DJ events, and improvised sessions with live bands. Rather than remaining within traditional forms of Butoh, she responds physically to music, space, and the sensations of each site, expanding Butoh into a contemporary form of bodily expression. B-kikan was active from 2016 to 2023, exploring the intersection of theater and Butoh.

Her practice has expanded beyond Japan through international exchange. She participated in the Hokkaido Butoh Festival in 2024 and in Decay and Birth – Taiwan–Japan Butoh Exchange in Taipei in 2025. As a younger-generation Butoh artist, she continues to explore the changing possibilities of the body through solo work, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international performance.
